Joe Loy

Joe Clifton Loy, 81, of 289 Loy Dr. in Pelham, NC, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at his home following several weeks of failing health. Born in Alamance County, he was the son of the late Ernest Elmo and Nellie Mae Swaim Loy and was the husband of the late Betty Moody Bryant Loy. Joe retired from the Burlington Housing Authority as a maintenance mechanic and served in the US Navy on the USS Edisto. Survivors include his daughter, Cora Mitchell and husband Jim of Massachusetts; sons, Haywood "Elmo" Loy and wife, Vickie of Haw River, Sterlin Drew Loy of Burlington and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
