Joe Norman Friddle, Jr. passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023 at his home.
Joe was born on August 1,1942 in Guilford County. He lived a life filled with love, laughter and cherished moments. He worked as a driver for Burlington Chemical for many years and approached every task with sense of responsibility and commitment. While Joe excelled in his profession, it was his personal qualities that truly set him apart. He was a family man at heart, finding immense joy in the company of his loved ones. Joe's warm and affectionate nature made him a loving father and devoted husband to his wife of 45 years, Mary Ann Morrison Friddle, who precedes him in death.
Joe enjoyed connecting with people from all walks of life and had an extraordinary talent for bringing smiles to their faces. One of his favorite ways to spread joy was by riding his scooter around the neighborhood and visiting with folks. His presence brightened the lives of those he encountered along the way.
In addition to his career and love for people, Joe had several hobbies and interests that brought him immense happiness. He was a big fan of Elvis Presley and delighted in singing Elvis songs whenever he had the chance. Attending The Barn Dance in Julian with his beloved wife was another activity that filled Joe's heart with joy.
Above all else, Joe's proudest accomplishment was his unwavering faith in the Lord. His spirituality served as a guiding light throughout his life journey and brought him comfort during challenging times.
Joe leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He is survived by daughters, Ann Baker, Patricia "Patti" Hanes, Angela Kristi Vasquez (Alfonso), and Teresa Clark; his grandchildren, Nathan Baker, Abigail Hanes, Jessica Vasquez, Christopher Vasquez, Aly Maynard, and Selena Givens; his siblings, Jerry Wayne Friddle (Jeanetta), Pat Collie (Sterling), Janie McKinney (Billy), Kay Thrower (Jeff), Johnny Friddle (Vail), Brenda Ortiz (Moses), and Esther Magness. In addition to his wife, Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna F. Ham; grandson, Jason Robertson, and siblings, Steven Friddle, Bobby Friddle, and Robin Friddle.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Following the funeral service, Joe will be laid to rest in Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian, North Carolina.
