Joan Queen

Burlington-Joan Turner Queen, age 79 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. Joan was the wife of the late Kenneth "Ken" Roberts Queen who died in 2014.
Joan retired from Real Estate after over 40 years. She was a longtime member of Grove Park Baptist Church and a member of the BYKOTA Sunday School Class. Joan sang in the church choir for many years. Joan attended Tennessee Tech. She was a member of Beta Psi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority since 1962. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her Children, Stan Queen and his wife, Janet of Burlington, Joni Hall and her husband, Chris of Ft. Myers, Florida and Steve Queen and wife, Holly of Altamonte Springs, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Turner Hall, Ashley Hall Faraone, Kenneth Brooks Queen, Taylor Marie Queen, Peyton Alexandra Queen and Cooper Webb Queen and three great grandchildren; twin sister, Jean Mills of Knoxville, Tennessee ; brothers, Franklin Turner and wife, Faye of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Ray Turner and wife, Diane of Villa Rica, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, John L. and Quinnie Elizabeth Ogilvie Turner; brother, Johnny Turner and a sister, Fay Turner.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00 am Grove Park Baptist Church by Rev. David Morton and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her son, Stan Queen.
