Joan Viola Feld Jarman

     Mrs. Joan Viola Jarman, age 87, of Mebane, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at her residence after several months of declining health.

     Born in Covington, KY, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence H. Feld and the late Gertrude Studer Feld and was married for 57 years to Francis Xavier Jarman, who passed in 2014.  She was a career homemaker and a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

     Mrs. Jarman is survived by her three children, Robert F. Jarman, Jeanna M. (Joe) Simmons and Jennifer L. (Don) Spear; five grandchildren, Joe Simmons III, Hugh Simmons, Simone Taylor, Jonathan Spear and James Spear; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and seven siblings.

     A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 10:45 AM Tuesday at the church prior to the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blessed Sacrament School at 515 Hillcrest Ave., Burlington, NC 27215.
