Joan Eanes

Joan Hicks Eanes, 80, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Penn Nursing Center. She was born October 29, 1934 in Randolph County to the late James L. and Annie Ring Hicks. Joan had retired from Holt Mfg. after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of Burlington Assembly of God. Survivors include her son Billy "Cary" Eanes, Jr.; grandchildren, Erin Azis, Cary Eanes, Christian Eanes, Hannah Miller; two great grandchildren; sister Mollie Vernon; brothers, James L. Hicks, Jr., John Joyce Hicks, Billy Hicks and a daughter-in-law Betty Eanes. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Edward "Eddie" Eanes; a daughter LaDonna E. Miller and a grandson Colin Eanes. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Rev. Howard Thompson and Rev. Bryan Rainbow. The family will receive friends 10:00-10:45 prior to the service and at other times at the home of a niece Susan Howard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Burlington Assembly of God, 821 Tucker St., Burlington, NC 27215.
