Joan Cowan

Mary Joan Luthy Cowan, 88, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 in her sleep at Twin Lakes Healthcare Center. She was born on December 29, 1926 in Portage County, OH to the late Eugene and Grace Frinkley Luthy and was the wife to the late Donald Thomas Cowan who died in 2011. Joan was a former Art Teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Cindy Cowan Becken and Lynn Stas and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Rachel Stas and Rob Stas; sister, Bonnie Mohler and husband, Bill. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ray Wittman with burial to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service on Tuesday.
