Jo Satterfield

Elon-Jo Ann Summers Satterfield age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2015. She was a native of Alamance and the wife of the late William Carter Satterfield. Jo Ann was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church and a homemaker. She was a loving mother and caregiver to her children and many other children. Jo Ann enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was a caring and kind hearted person to many in the community and church family. Jo Ann enjoyed the lake and camping with her family and friends,. She also enjoyed gardening and going to professional wrestling. Survivors include her son, Eddie Dean Satterfield and wife, Robin of Summerfield and a daughter, Amy Nance and husband, Kenneth, Jr. of Elon; six grandchildren, Ashley Baldwin and husband, Jermaine, Lauren Leath and husband, Justin, Daniel Satterfield, Christopher Satterfield and wife, Erin, Abbey Senecal and Gina Dalto and four great grandchildren, Kinna McCain, Jamiyah McCain, Taylor Cole and Carter Leath; sisters, Glenda Madren and husband, Jack of Burlington and Gail Fowler of Altamahaw; brother, Darryl Tickle and wife, Marie of Altamahaw; daughter-in-law, Debbie Satterfield of Elon. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Satterfield and a son, Douglas Satterfield; husband, William C. Satterfield; parents, Verlyn Summers and Marguerite Smith Tickle; sisters, Loretta Moss and Carolyn Whitaker. Special thanks to the staff at Ashton Place, especially Rhonda for their care and love they provided to her and the family while she was there. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Todd Felkel and Rev. Dave Gilbert and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
