Jimmie Griffin

Graham - Jimmie Rogers Griffin, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

He was born in Erwin, NC on August 31, 1938 to the late Vander and Lena Harris Griffin and was the husband of 62 years to Letha Joyce Parker Griffin of the home.

Jimmie was employed with Cone Mills for many years and was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church.  He enjoyed traveling, fishing and watching his John Wayne westerns.  He was a faithful Christian who loved the Lord and his family.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Letha; daughters, Delois Dianne Bateman and husband Mike, Sybil Joyce May and husband Ralph; grandchildren, Jennifer Stanfield (Tim), Dana Staats (Cindy), Brandy Baken (Roy), Michaela Blackwell (Justin) and Thomas May; great grandchildren, T.J. and Nick Stanfield, Logan Gainey, Gracie, Layla and Gaby Baken and Braxtyn Blackwell; brother, David Griffin and wife Ozell and a sister, Lena Betts.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold, Charles and James Griffin and sisters, Margaret Gainey, Helen House and Luretha Norris.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Billy Ray Griffin and Rev. Timmy Bass.  The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. He will be available for viewing from 12-4 on Sunday and 1-1:45 on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
