Jimmie Gover, Sr.

Mr. Jimmie Lee Gover, Sr., age 83, of Mebane, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Born in Rockingham County, he was the son of the late Cedric Lester Gover and the late Dorothy Pate Gover and was married for over 54 years to Mrs. Glenda Allen Gover, who survives. Jimmie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion. He was employed in commercial construction until his retirement and was of the Episcopalian faith. Jimmie was a loving husband and father and a dedicated family man.
Mr. Gover is survived by his wife of the home; six children, Myra (Phil) Manuli of Mebane, Gary (Cynthia) Edmonds of Graham, Donna Gover of Snow Camp, Jimmie (Missy) Gover, Jr. of Reidsville, Billy Gover of Laurinburg and Bobby Gover of Mebane; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a brother, Buddy (Gladys) Gover of Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Meldine Abernathy; and a brother, Charlie Gover.
The funeral will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 3:45 Saturday afternoon and other times at residence.
