Burlington-Jimmie "Jack" Jackson Capps, age 68 went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the hospice home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of 28 years to Shelia Black Capps who survives. Jack was the owner of J C Piedmont Plumbing, Inc. for 15 years and a member of City Lake Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War receiving a purple heart and bronze star for his service. Jack loved the outdoors, rabbit hunting, fishing and Bluegrass music. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Shelia B. Capps of the home; son, John Capps of Burlington; daughters, Brandi Simmons and husband, Derek of Elon and Jennifer C. Dellinger and husband, Chris of Burlington; grandchildren, Jordan and Blake Simmons, Ava and Allie Dellinger; siblings, Shirley Coggins and husband, Dean of Graham, Allen "Bud" Capps of Burlington, Susan Eastwood and husband, James of Burlington, Paul Capps and wife, Penny of Burlington, Bonnie Turner of Haw River, Priscilla Maness and husband, Roger of Burlington and Penny Ford of Graham and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Lee and Myrtle Ragan Capps. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care for Jack during the past week. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Bennie Smith and the burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
