Jewel Malone

Jewel Faye Malone died suddenly Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Presbyterian Home of Hawfields after ten plus years of fragile health. She was 79. She moved to N.C. following the death of her husband, Mahlon G. Malone, where they lived in Kingwood, Texas. She is survived by her sister, Norma Bergeron and husband, AL, of Burlington, a Niece, Sharon Cooke of Cary, North Carolina, Nephews, Alan Bergeron of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Ronald Bergeron of Round Rock, Texas. Faye attended David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tennessee. She worked for many years in California as a medical transcriptionist and medical records librarian. Presbyterian Home of Hawfields was not simply a nursing home to her, but it was truly her home. She loved the staff, enjoyed joking with them and affectionately gave some nicknames. She also loved her church family, the Mebane Street Church of Christ. She deeply appreciated her doctors: Dr. Ernest Eason, Dr. Michael Brennan, Dr. Alax Alexander and Dr. Wayne Massey. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Presbyterian Home of Hawfields or a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at info@lowefuneralhome.com.
