Jesse Whitlow

Jesse Noton Whitlow, 95, passed away Friday April 25, 2014 at the Hospice Home. He was married to the late Ruth Shelton Whitlow for seventy-one years and was born June 9, 1918 in Patrick County, VA to the late Noten and Lily Bowles Whitlow. Jesse had served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked for twenty-four years as a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene and had been very active in the church. His lifelong mission was caring for his family and helping others. He always had a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye and was glad to see you. Jesse will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include a daughter Linda Whitlow Caulder, a son Cecil N. Whitlow and his wife Linda all of Burlington, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a grandson Ryan Thomas Jeter, sisters Ethel Meadows, brothers; Eugene Whitlow, Russell Whitlow, Cecil Whitlow and an infant sister. There will be a graveside service 10:00 AM Monday at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc.
