Burlington, NC Jessie Gladys Bailess Forrester, age 80, of 3615 S. Mebane Street went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Burlington Manor. She was a native of Danville, Virginia and the wife of the late Vance Powers Forrester, Sr. Gladys retired from Macfield after many years with the company. She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and a loving and devoted Christian lady. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jack Sink of Burlington, Pat and Barney Jordan of Haw River; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Carolyn Forrester and Vance and Carol Forrester both of Burlington; grandchildren, Kathie Niven, Tricia Medford, Michael Forrester, Matthew Forrester, Beth Forrester, Sarah Forrester and Brian Jordan; great grandchildren, Jesse and Elana Medford, Marley Forrester, Delia Forrester, Nolan Jordan, Will and Ellie Niven; half sisters, Martha Roark of Altavista, Virginia, Frances Shelton of Hurt, Virginia; half brothers, Johnny and David Bailess both of Hurt, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Eddie Lee Bailess and Georgie Hagood Bailess; brother, Oliver T. Bailess; step mother, Mary Bailess. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Gene Hunsinger and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the funeral home and other times at the sons home, Vance Forrester, 2610 Clarendon Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
