Jerryl Douglas Loy

     Mr. Jerryl Douglas “Doug” Loy, age 80, of Haw River, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC after several months of failing health.

     A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late James Harold Loy and the late Montie McLendon Loy.  He was part of the first graduating class of Southern High School in 1961.  Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion, Post 427 in Haw River for over 50 years.  He was retired from Industrial Truck Sales and Service and was a member of Friendship Methodist.

     Mr. Loy is survived by his sister, Linda Rutland and her husband, Dan and his longtime companion, Carol A. Jones.

     A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
