Jerry Mazzurco

Burlington-Jerry Mazzurco, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at the Hospice home surrounded by his family. He was born in Borgetto, Sicily to the late Salvatore and Maria Castronova Mazzurco.
Jerry owned and operated Sal's Italian Restaurant for over 40 years with his wife and children. He was a food conosseur who brought some of the finest Italian dishes and restaurants to this area. Jerry was very devoted to his community and sponsored numerous sports teams over the years. He helped to establish soccer fields in the area to bring soccer to the local community. His passion was serving the community and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Margaret "Mogy"" Nourse Mazzurco of the home; sons, Salvatore Mazzurco and wife, Tina, James Mazzurco and Marco Mazzurco all of Burlington; daughter, Maria Mazzurco of Burlington; grandchildren, Giovanni and Gabriella Mazzurco.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Briant Cullinane, OFM Conv. The entombment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
