Jerry Lewis, Sr.

Jerry Wayne Lewis, Sr., 68, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Hospice Home after a short illness. He was born in Rome, GA to the late Nolan Phillip Lewis and the late Margaret Lenell Haste Lewis and was the husband to Rebecca Lee "Becky" Lewis for 22 years who survives. Jerry retired from Chandler Concrete after 14 years of service and was a member of Lowe Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors other than his wife Becky, include daughters, Kimberly Anne Cummings, Angie Lavoie and Nancy Fogleman; sons, Jerry Wayne Lewis, Jr. and Harrell Wayne Barnwell; 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Smoot Cranfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Phillip Lewis. The Lewis family would like to express their gratitude to the Hospice nurses and staff for all their loving care that was shown to Jerry during his illness. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will be at the daughter, Angie's home, 1328 Elder Way, Burlington, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
