Mr. Jerry Wayne Jarrell, age 73, of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell after several weeks of failing health.
Born in Randolph County, he was the son of the late Joseph Harold Jarrell and the late Dorothy McNeil Jarrell and was married for over 51 years to Mrs. Brenda Kindley Jarrell, who survives. He retired from Thomas Built Bus / EDS with over 30 years of service and was a longtime member of Beacon Baptist Church. Jerry was greatly involved with the Beacon Rest Home ministry and was an avid musician that enjoyed playing the guitar and mandolin.
Mr. Jarrell is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Sonja Horstman and husband, Mike, of Arlington Heights, IL and Teresa Hendry and husband, Nathan, of Elon; three granddaughters, Alexis Steele, Ainsley Hendry and Avery Hendry; three grandsons, Addison Hendry, Benjamin Horstman, and Theodore Horstman; one great grandchild, Adylan Steele; and two brothers, Jack Jarrell of Ramseur and Jeffery Jarrell of Burlington.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Beacon Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Karns. There will be a private family interment following the service. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Josiah Fund in c/o Beacon Baptist Church at 1622 Kirkpatrick Rd, Burlington, NC 27215.
