Jerry Flinchum, Sr.

Jerry Lee Flinchum, Sr., 63, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 7, 1951 in Wilkes County, NC to the late John Martin Flinchum, Sr. and Erie McCarter McDaniel who survives and was the husband of eight years to Tina Brown Flinchum of the home. Jerry was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Gold Toe Knitting and delivered the Burlington Times News for over thirty years. He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed wood working. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of the home; his mother, Erie McDaniel of Burlington; a daughter, Stephanie Flinchum of Graham; a son, Jerry "Joey" Lee Flinchum, Jr. of Graham; grandchildren, Kayden DeRoiser, Kaylee DeRoiser, Damion McCave; sisters, Judy Fred Walker, Sherry Lynn McDaniel all of Burlington; brother, Robert Anthony McDaniel of Burlington and a half-brother, Mark Flinchum of N. Wilkesboro. He was preceded in death by his father, step-father Robert Edward McDaniel; son, Jerry Lee Flinchum, Jr. and a brother, James William Flinchum III and a half-brother John Martin Flinchum, Jr. A service to celebrate his life will be held 1:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Reid Dickens and Vicky Davis with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at his home at 3512 Osceola Rd. in Elon. The family will also receive friends at his mother's home in Burlington. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lisa Snuggs her loving care and compassion during Jerry's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
