Jerry Adams, Jr.

Jerry Jackson Adams, Jr., age 71, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 2, 2006. Jerry was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He attended St. Mark's Reformed Church. A native of Opp, Alabama, Jerry was the husband of Bonnie Jean Adams, father of Lisa Adams Baker of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Todd Jerry Adams of Davidson, NC, and Scott Christopher Adams of Long Island City, NY; grandfather of Spencer and Savannah Baker of Atlanta, GA, and Lydia, Jackson and Clayton Adams of Davidson, NC. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jackson Adams, Sr. and mother, Maude Adams. Jerry graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management. At Auburn he also competed as a member of the golf team and shared the love of this life long sport with family and friends. He served as a Captain in the Army, Armor and 101st Airborne, during the Berlin Crisis. He returned to a career in manufacturing management and later earned an MBA from Xavier University. In North Carolina he served as plant manager at Walter Kidde in Mebane and ultimately retired from Pickett Hosiery in 2000. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, June 5, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home. The funeral service will be held at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. by Rev. Ben Bishop with burial following at St. Mark's Church Cemetery.
