Jerrie Davis

Burlington, NC Geraldine "Jerrie" Somers Davis, age 77, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of 56 years to Harold Love Davis who survives. Jerrie retired after 33 years from the Employment Security Commission as a placement supervisor. She graduated from Women's College of University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BS degree in Chemistry. Jerrie was a member of The First Baptist Church of Elon and a member of the Celestial Sunday School Class. Survivors include her husband, Harold Love Davis of the home, her daughters, Kara Davis of Raleigh and Leah Davis and her husband, Bryan Kluttz of Burlington and a granddaughter, Cailin Kluttz; brother, Ross Somers of Beaufort, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Edward Somers and Epsie Tesh Somers; brother, Sam Somers and her sister, Rachel Grant. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Elon by Rev. Mark Mofield and a private burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
