Gibsonville - Jeremy Sears, a young 46 year old, passionate Washington Redskins fan, was called home and welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ of whom he had a knowledge, love and deep-rooted faith. Cheering on sports, hearing local bands and sharing his faith at local places brought Jeremy some of the happiest times of his life. He was also an avid Jimmy Buffet fan. Those closest to him were always amazed at his large collection of books and the time he spent reading, as well as his gift of remembering quotes from his favorite movies and books. Seeing Jeremy’s talent and attention to detail was unmistakable while working at Hardwoods Unlimited. For three years he worked for the city of Greensboro in the water resources department. His friends will always speak of Jeremy’s laughter, stories, strength, dependability and hard work ethic.
He leaves behind his fiancé, Melissa Aldridge, who fell in love with him 8 years ago. He is also survived by his mother, Judy H. Shepherd and husband Brent; father, William D. “Danny” Sears and wife Debbie; sisters, Deena Anibal and husband Lyle, Danica S. Kelso and husband Chuck; brother, Andy Sears and wife Alyson; nieces, Holt Sears, Kiley Sears and Kierstyn Kelso; a nephew, Will Sears and his adored dogs, Romeo, Millie and cat, Tom.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daniel J. and Edith H. Sears; maternal grandmother, Fay Wyrick Holt Flynn; maternal great grandparents, Clifton C. and Marietta P. Wyrick and his loyal dog, Zoe.
A service to celebrate Jeremy’s life will be held 2:00pm on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by Rev. J.D. Weed. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at his home.
