Greensboro - Jeffrey Lawson Welker, Jr., age 35, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Lawson was born on November 7, 1985, a spirited and gifted person with a deep abiding love for his family and all the people in his life. He had a loyal and forgiving nature and unmatched empathy toward every living soul. Lawson was especially caring towards his grandparents during their ailing years. He loved and appreciated them infinitely.
Lawson was talented in so many ways and shared those talents whenever he had the chance. From a young age, he knew how to drive dirt bikes, four wheelers, and even his Papa’s manual shift car. He could build anything and had a natural gift for playing the guitar. His sister, Mary, and adoring cousins will always remember him as being the leader of countless childhood adventures and fun. Lawson's family will know that they held a special place in his heart. He would often send messages or call just to let people know he loved them.
Despite the difficult challenges he faced in life, Lawson had a sensitive and warm heart, and a true concern for others that will be dearly missed. He carried with him a light that could be seen in the darkest of times and that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Lawson is reunited with his sister, Paige Victoria, as well as his grandparents, CA and Frances Greeson. He is survived by his sister, Mary, and his parents, Janet and Jeff, who strove every day to add joy to his life.
A graveside service to celebrate Lawson’s life will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ Cemetery by Rev. Kristin Gerner Vaughn.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Mental Health Foundation at 10648 Woodbridge Street, Suite 207, Los Angeles, CA 91602 or you can donate online at https://mentalhealthfoundation.org/donate.
