Jeffrey Ray

Jeffrey David Ray, age 29, of 9405 Hwy 87 S., died suddenly at his home on Monday, May 31, 2011. Born in Houston, TX, he was the owner and operator of Shugg's Logging and attended Lamb's Chapel. His passions were his family, baseball, in which he received many awards, and deer hunting, for which he was featured in Sportsmans Magazine. Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Jennifer Deese Ray; daughter, Cheyenne Ray; and son, Evan Ray, all of the home; his mother, Debbie Upshaw Braxton and her husband, Mark, of Burlington; his father, David Hugh Ray of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother, Brett Ray of Burlington; and his grandparents, Ethel Ray, Dewey and Jerry Upshaw, all of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harry Lee Ray. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Fred Treadwell. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home and other times at his grandparents' residence, 2541 Churchill Dr., Burlington.
