Jeffrey Bates

Jeffrey Junior Bates, 46, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012. He was born in Alamance County to the late Ernest Junior Bates and Martha Reid Bates Guffey who survives and married to Janet Sartin Bates of the home. Jeffrey was employed with the Alamance Burlington School System and he loved all kinds of sports. Survivors other than his wife of the home and mother of Burlington, includes sons, Brysen Junior Bates, Chad Sartin Huffman both of the home; daughter, Jessica Leigh Young of Graham; sisters, Anne Stranger, Tammy Shimon, Lisa Helms and Abby Urick; brother, Steven Bates; maternal grandmother, Isabelle Murray; cousins, John Michael Warren, Johnny Winn, Dawn Williams and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a whole lot of friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a special aunt, Ruby Winn. The graveside service will be held 4:30 pm Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Bland Leebrick, the family will receive friends from 1 to 4pm Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. At other times the family will be at the sister-in-law, Andrea Swinson's house. In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask for donations to be sent to Truliant Federal Credit Union, c/o Brysen Junior Bates college fund, 2564 Kirkwood Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
