Jeannie Esther Hockenberry Michael

Jeannie Esther Hockenberry Michael, aged 86, passed away on April 19, 2024, at Liberty Commons. She was born on March 22, 1938, in East Waterford, PA. Jeannie was a cherished wife, daughter, mother, sister, and friend.

Jeannie is survived by her loving family and friends, including her daughter Mari Davis and husband Richard. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sister Delores Alley.

Jeannie was predeceased by her beloved husband Bryan Leroy Michael parents; Samuel Hockenberry and Ethel Marie Vincent Hockenberry, her daughters Sandra Kay Gruber and Lynne Donahue, as well as her brother Samuel Hockenberry and a sister; Betty Beaver.  

A funeral to celebrate Jeannie’s life will be held at 3:00 on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 by Rev. Randy Hobbs at New Hope Baptist Church with the burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 prior to the service at the church. 

Jeannie will be remembered for her kindness, grace, and unwavering love for her family. She touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
