Jean Willis

Burlington - Jean Barlow Willis, 89, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born March 14, 1927 in Robeson County to the late Joe and Carrie Smith Barlow and was married to the late Edgar Carl Willis, Sr. who died in 1999.

Jean was a retired nurse with the Alamance County Health Department. She was a member of N.C. Nurses Association, Forest Hills Senior Center and Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and William "Dub" Whitt; and a son, Edgar "Ed" Willis, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Billy Barlow; a sister, Sara Hendrix and her canine companion, Tippy.

The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bryan Rainbow and Rev. Jim Reder with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45am prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the daughter, Carla Whitt's home.
