Jean Suggs Harrison, 92, passed away on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Burlington, North Carolina. A native of Charlottesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Lee and Docia Addie Moody Suggs and was married for over 70 years to the love of her life, Henry Hazel Harrison, who passed in 2021.
Jean was known for her remarkable talents as an excellent baker, creating delicious memories for countless family gatherings and celebrations. Her love for crafting was evident in the many projects that filled her home, each a testament to her creativity and artistic spirit. A devout Christian, Jean cherished listening to old hymns, finding solace and joy in the music that nourished her soul. Her garden, alive with beautiful African Violets, mirrored her nurturing heart, as she poured her love into both her plants and family.
Among her proudest accomplishments was the opening of her stained-glass store, showcasing her exceptional talent and determination. Jean's creative spirit shone brightly in all that she did, lifting the hearts of those around her and inspiring them to embrace their own passions.
Jean's family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her four loving children: Michael Henry Harrison (Delores), Patricia Harrison Woody (Kenneth), Andy Lee Harrison (Sandra), and Joel Greg Harrison (Gina). As well as, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren a brother, Cecil Suggs (Ann), and her dear sisters-in-law, Phoebe Harrison and Betty Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hazel Harrison, parents, Andrew Lee Suggs and Docia Addie Moody Suggs, as well as her brothers, Junior Suggs, Graham Suggs, and Bob Suggs (Mazie), and her sisters, Dorothy Parsons and Mary Mercer (Ed).
A visitation will be held at Lowe Funeral Home on January 31, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a graveside service at Alamance Memorial Park, starting at 1:00 PM.
