Janie Odell McMillan Richardson, 94, of Everette St. passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at White Oak Manor. A native of Axton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Coleman McMillan and the late Lillian Wright McMillan and was married to the late Charles Arthur Richardson, who died in 1983. She retired from Glen Raven Mills after 44 years service and was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School in the childrens department for many years. She was a marvelous cook and seamstress. Mrs. Richardson is survived by a daughter, Gladys K. Adams of Burlington; five grandchildren, Gary W. Adams of Burlington; Charles M. Adams of Burlington; Kenneth L. Adams, Jr. an his wife Gretchen of Mebane, Joseph D. Adams of Burlington and Sharon D. Adams of Charlotte; great grandson, Kenneth M. Adams; two sisters, Mildred M. Shoe of Burlington and Anna M. Burton of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son-in-law, Kenneth L. Adams, Sr.; five sisters and four brothers. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bobby Fann. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home and other times at the daughters home, 125 Markam St., Burlington.
