Mrs. Janice Capps Brown, age 70, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Duke University Medical Center after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Henry “Jake” Capps and the late Doris Marie Tickle Capps and was married for over 53 years to Billy Warren Brown, who survives. After graduating from Eastern High School, she was employed for over 54 years with Business Insurers of the Carolinas before her retirement.
She was a member of Hopedale Church and always strived to take care of the needs of her family.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of the home; her children, Revonda Johnson and Michael Brown; three grandchildren, Travis (Fania) Johnson, Mary Brown and Madelin Brown; two great grandchildren, Theo and Elena Johnson; and two sisters, Phyllis (J.R.) Cartwright and Shelia (Andy) Porterfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vanessa Brame.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 1, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Cauthren and Rev. Dan Cubino. Interment will take place at Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Brown will be available for public viewing from 12:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopedale Church, 909 Deep Creek Church Rd., Burlington, NC 27217.
