Janet “Jan” Lamm Harris Sartin, age 78, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at her home.
A native of Alamance County she was the daughter of the late Lyman Woodrow Lamm and Faye Kenyon Lamm and was married for 25 years to Hal Wesley Sartin, Sr., who survives.
Jan was a teacher and librarian in the public school system for many years. She was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian in Burlington where she played the organ for many years. She also enjoyed knitting, playing and teaching the piano, sewing, baking, dancing and loving her beloved dog Gingi. At one time she owned and operated “A Needle and a Haystack”. She is remembered as being generous, kind and loved her family and friends “big”.
Jan is survived by her husband; Hal Wesley Sartin, Sr., sons; John Lyman Harris and his wife, Shannon Biggs Harris and their children Hannah and Cole, Kenyon Lee Harris and his wife, Staci King Harris, and their children K.J. and Alli. Step-children; Randy Sartin, Wes Sartin and Page Gregory, step-grandchildren; Ben Sartin, Ellie Sartin, McEwin Sartin, Charlie Sartin, Yancey Sartin, Quenton Sartin and Emmy Gregory; step-great grandchildren; Hayden and Hayes, brother; Rev. Woody Lamm and a sister; Alisa Stevens. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Kadence Harris and her parents; Lyman and Faye Lamm.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 8, 2023 at Westminster Presbyterian by Rev. Powell Sykes with Entombment to follow in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home.
