Jane Spoon

Burlington - Jane Lethia Williams Spoon, 69, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Wythe County, VA on October 26, 1947 to the late Carl Wade Williams and Irene Kincer Williams, who survives and was the wife of 52 years to Claude Douglas "Doug" Spoon, who survives.

She retired after 36 years with Carolina Biological and later was employed with Wal-Mart for over 16 years. Jane loved crafts and was a member of People's Memorial Christian Church.

Survivors other than her husband, Doug Spoon and her mother Irene Williams includes her daughter, Jodie Jacobs and husband, Doug; a granddaughter, Megan Jacobs; sister, Brenda Williams Cates; sister-in-law, Catherine Sealey and husband Rick; niece, Jennifer Williamson; nephew, John Michael Williamson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Grinnell with burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home and other times at the daughters' home in Graham.
