Jane Foushee Garrison, 90, of Poplar Ave. passed away peacefully at her home following a six year battle with dementia on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Nathaniel "Nat" Garrison, Sr. and daughter of the late Dr. L.M. Foushee and Vera Oldham Foushee. Jane attended Meredith College, Greensboro College and Duke University School of Nursing. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church where she was active in a Presbyterian Women's Circle for many years. She loved playing bridge with her friends but her main love was her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her sons; Nathaniel W. Garrison, Jr. and Karen Boat of Raleigh, Gary R. Garrison of the home, Frank F. Garrison and wife Brenda of Wilmington and P. Michael "Mike" Garrison and wife Vanessa of Burlington; daughter; Janat Schramm and husband Arthur "Skip" Schramm of Charlotte; grandchildren; Corey and Dylan Boat, Johanna Garrison, Steve N. Garrison, Isabella Garrison, Blake Kirven, Nathan Garrison, Chandler and Natalie Schramm; great grandchildren; Grace Garrison and Emily Rafferty. Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Ronald L. Shive, pastor. The church will host a reception following the service. Mrs. Garrison will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church for services. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
