James "Jim" Cahill

James “Jim” Cahill, 57, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.  Jim was born in Queens County, Flushing New York, September 25, 1963. He graduated from Walter M. Williams High School in Burlington, NC and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon University, Elon, NC. Jim continued on to obtain a Masters of Science and Education from Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island, New York and worked in Admissions Recruitment and in Alumni Affairs Management for Hofstra University. He also worked as a Director of Financial Services for Dalbar, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jim was a spiritual, kind and loving person. He never knew a stranger and had many friends and acquaintances. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jim was a diehard Republican and volunteered for the Republican Party. He loved a good dinner table conversation.

Jim is survived by his mother, Barbara Ann Cahill; partner, Robin Harris; brothers, Christopher Cahill and wife, Ana Cahill, John Cahill and wife, Brenda Cahill, and Jason Cahill, and husband, Vlad DzIak; daughter, Catherine Love and husband, Aaron Love; nephews, Joshua, Jake, Ryan, Jonah and Seth; nieces, Courtney and Lily, and friend, Michael Harris. He was preceded in death by his father, John Cahill; aunt, Sister Joan Cahill and great uncle, James Schuart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Paul Lininger, OFM. Conv. at 3:00Pm on Monday, June 28, 2021. The burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-2:50PM prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Blessed Sacrament Church, Little Portion Food Pantry. The family wishes to thank Dr. Sarah Patel for lovingly caring for Jim.
