James "Buddy" Lee, Sr.

James Edward “Buddy” Lee, Sr., 76, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at UNC Hospitals surrounded by his family.  He was born in Alamance County to the late James Monroe and Idell Michael Lee and was married for 54 years to Linda Vess Lee who survives.  Buddy was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 37 and a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, financial advisor and on the Senior Citizens committee.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War and retired as a Master Sergeant with over 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Laura Ann Lee Ragan (Michael); son, James Edward “Jimmy” Lee, Jr. (Nicole); grandsons, Joshua Samuel Lee, William Carter Lee, James Nicholas Lee, Jordan Lee Ragan, Christopher Lewis Ragan; sister, Barbara Lee Hamlett; brothers-in-law, Edward Vess (Ann), Larry Moss (Diane).  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Raymond Hamlett.
The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Steve Tucker with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
