James Vance Wrenn, age 79, of 8173 Cherry Grove Rd., passed away Monday, December 31, 2007 at 9:48 PM. A native of Alamance County, he was husband of Inez Saunders Wrenn for 59 years and was the son of the late Melvin Howard and Faye Moore Wrenn. After 25 years, Vance retired from County Ford and had been an agent for Southland Life Insurance Co. and owner/operator of Pagetown Curb Market. He was a member of Camp Spring United Methodist Church and former board member, was very active in the Cherry Grove Ruritan where he was Past President and Zone Governor, a member of Alamance County Rescue Squad for 10 years and founded little league baseball in Caswell County in 1959. Survivors include his wife, Inez Saunders Wrenn of the home; son, J. V. Wrenn, Jr. and wife Pam of King; daughter, Dianne Watson and husband Dwight of Prospect Hill; sisters, Maxine Sharpe and husband Ray of Elon and Sherrion Danieley and husband Donnie of Burlington; brothers, T. Clelon Wrenn, Sr. and wife Joan of Burlington, Therwell Howard Wrenn and wife Ann, Curtis F. Wrenn and wife Myrtie and Carl H. Wrenn and wife Kay all of Elon; 4 grandchilden, Mickey Wrenn and wife Betsy, Amanda Rule and husband Sam, Dwight Watson and wife Trish and Derek Watson and wife Carla; 3 great grandchildren; Caleb and Joshua Wrenn and Samantha Rule. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Buddy Hamlett and sister, Sarah Lee Wrenn. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Camp Springs United Methodist Church by Rev. Johnny Roberts, Rev. Patricia Watson, Rev. Darrell Fibbett and Rev. Donald Harris with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
