James Wikle

Burlington – James Robertson Wikle, Jr., 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Hospice Home.  A native of Cleveland County he was born to the late James Robertson Wikle, Sr. and Hannah “Ann” Bowker Wikle and was married to Emogene Wikle who passed in 2019.

James was born in North Carolina, but grew up in Magnolia Arkansas before serving in the US Navy during World War II.  He was the Owner of the Wikle Company, which designed industrial heating and air units.  He enjoyed boating, traveling and photography and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

James is survived by his son; John Wikle, daughter; Mary Ann Wikle and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister; Margaret Wikle Plyler.

There will be a private family graveside service to celebrate his life.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Brookdale Assisted Living, ARMC and Authoracare Hospice for all their kind and compassionate care.
