James J.B. Wells Burlington-James Bernard J.B. Wells, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Richmond County and the husband of 66 years to Faye Renigar Wells who survives. James retired after 28 years with the US Postal Service. He was a US Army veteran serving during WW II in the Pacific Theatre where he served with the occupational forces in Japan. He was a proud member of the DAV and VFW. James attended Springlake Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Cathy Jeanette Wells of Lexington, Virginia; sons, Gene Steven Wells of Sarasota, Florida, Chris Warren Wells and wife, Lili of Sarasota, Florida and Robert Franklin Wells and wife, Lisa of Stanton, Virginia; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Ernest Donald Wells and wife, Clara of Wichita Falls, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Franklin Wells and Alice Roney Wells; brothers, Otis Franklin Wells, Jr., George William Wells and Jack Wells. The Wells family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice for their kind and compassionate care and also their church family and friends for all their support during James illness. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Paul Renigar and Pastor Keith Jones and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:45-12:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
