James Starke

Burlington - James Dean Starke, 62, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Rutherford County to the late James Charles Starke and Nadeen Easley Hart.

James worked at Culp Fabrics for 17 years and formerly worked at Rich's Cafeteria in Graham. He was a faithful member of 35 years at Tabernacle Baptist Church; he enjoyed his church family, his dogs and parakeets.

James is survived by his brothers, Jack Hart and friend, Eunice Eckard and Chris Hart and wife, Ruth; sisters, Robbie Bostic and Mary Reaves and husband, Jim; several nieces and nephews; numerous friends and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father Jack Childers Hart, Sr. and a brother, Leslie Brent Starke.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church by Rev. Norman Fargis. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 PM Monday at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 515 N. Marshall St. Graham, NC 27253.
