James B. "Jim" Spoonamore, 75, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Boyle County, KY on May 7, 1940 to the late Ernest Osborne and Edith Lanier Whitehouse Spoonamore. Jim was a US Army Veteran serving from 1962-1965. He owned-operated Kentucky Fried Chicken for 20 years, worked for Dick Shirley Chevrolet and later retired from Alamance Road Auto Sales which he also owned and operated. Jim enjoyed working out, spending 3 to 4 evenings a week at the Edge. His fascination with Harley was unmatched as it was one of his prime interests and activities. In the last few years he rode cross country covering nearly 48 states. He was a member of the National HOG Association and the National Cushman Club of America. Jim is survived by the love of his life for 24 years, Nancy Thomas of the home; daughters, Lisa Spoonamore Ellis and husband Steven of Glade Hill, VA, Stacey Spoonamore and Tara Spoonamore, both of Burlington; grandchildren, Lindsay Ellis and Kyle Ellis; a sister, Ann Spoonamore Florence of Iowa; step-brother, Wayne Edwall and wife Lisa of Graham; honorary lifelong brothers, Ross Wagoner and Mickey Maney and other numerous dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gary Williams. Following the service there will be a "last ride" to Lucky's. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Cancer Society, P.O.
