James Solomon

Elon, NC James Henry Solomon, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of South Hill, Virginia and the husband of the late Mabel Jean Simmons Solomon. James was a grading contractor for many years and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. James was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his children, Wade Solomon and his wife, Debbie of Elon, Danny Solomon and his wife, Annette of Elon, Scott Solomon and his wife, Angie of Elon, Diane Kilmer and her husband, Bernie of Burlington and Eva Fulcher and her husband, Lawrence of Yanceyville; 23 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; brother, Douglas Solomon of Tennessee and sisters, Linda Barker, Peggy and Betty Jane all of South Hill, Virginia and Ada Rae of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Jean Simmons Solomon and a son, Michael Gray Solomon; parents, James "Jim" Solomon and Mossie Solomon. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church by Rev. Garland Simmons and the burial will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. on Monday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home.
