Kimesville James Earl Sharpe, 78, died Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was the husband of Lou Jones Sharpe who survives and the son of the late Earl DeWitte and Mozelle Isley Sharpe. A native of Alamance County, a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Sharpes Trucking and was a farmer. He received the Outstanding Farmer of the Year award in 1963. He is survived by his wife Lou J. Sharpe of the home, sons; J. Kenneth Sharpe and wife Katie, Stephen B. Sharpe and wife Pamela, J. Martin Sharpe and Derek Sharpe, daughter; Kana Sharpe House and husband Timothy, grandchildren; Ryan Sharpe, Abigail Fields,Jessica Sharpe, Carley Sharpe, Devon Sharpe, Kendall Sharpe, Jena Sharpe, Jayden House, one great grandchild, sister and brother-in-law; Mary Sharpe Andrews and Bryant, nephews; Michael and Sammy Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of the son Stephen Sharpe, 3715 Williams Dairy Rd. Greensboro.
