James Rose, Sr.

James Edward Rose, Sr., age 72, of Winding Trail passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home. A native of Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late Reece Rose and Anna Smith Rose who survives. He was retired from Cone Mills White Oak Plant, was an avid NASCAR fan and could always be found at Ace Speedway on Friday night. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Hazel Holley Rose of the home; mother, Anna Smith Rose of Yanceyville; sons, Sammy Rose and wife Annette of Burlington, James E. Rose, Jr. of the home, Scott Rose and wife Tina of Graham; grandchildren, Sherry Johnson and husband Derek of Liberty, Dylan Rose of Fayetteville, Hunter and Hayden Rose of Graham and Keith Barbee of Burlington; great grandchildren, Bailey and Mia Johnson and a brother, Frank Rose of Yanceyville. Funeral services will be held a 1:00pm Friday, December 12. 2014 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jonathan Graves. Interment will follow in the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. Rose will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 5-7pm Thursday.
