James Roberts, Jr.

James Baxter "JB" Roberts, Jr., 83, formerly of 2702 Holly Hill Lane, died peacefully on January 29, 2008 after several months of failing health at Alamance Health Care Center. He was born in Mooresville, NC on July 4, 1924. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Callie Biddix Roberts; sons, Hoyle Roberts and Doyle Roberts, both of Burlington; daughters, Debra Hilliard and husband James of Burlington and Faye Roberts wife of the late Pastor Doug Roberts; grandchildren, Tammy Oakes and husband Pete, Tina Britt and husband Tim, Anita Sutton, Sonya Shelton and husband Kevin, April Roberts, Joshua Roberts and wife Lauren, Ashley Roberts, Thomas Roberts, Jared Roberts and Tiffani Roberts and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents James Roberts, Sr. and Clara Westmoreland Roberts, one brother and two sisters. He was owner of Roberts' and Sons Phillips 66 on Alamance Road for 12 years and Roberts Towing for over 20 years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Todd Martin and Dr. Gene Hunsinger with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 Thursday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Faye Roberts 1407 Osborne Drive, Burlington. The family would like to say Thank You to the staff of Alamance Health Care for the special care shown to their father.
