James Oakley

James Craig Oakley, 56, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 23, 1959 in Alamance County to James William Oakley and Norma Jean Smith Oakley who both survives. Craig was a graduate of Western High School, a former UPS employee and a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church . Survivors other than his parents, William and Norma Oakley include his sisters, Cheryl Oakley Carden and Wendy Oakley; nieces, Lauren Carden Evans and Sydney Ward; nephew, Will Carden and great niece, Breanna The Kid Evans. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Coy and Nellie McKinney Smith and his paternal grandparents, Dewey and Savannah Kimbro Oakley, The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday, January 11, 2016 at Shallow Ford Christian Church by Rev. Steve Regan with burial to follow in Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
