James Mundy

Liberty James Dallas "J.D." Mundy, age 84 of Alpine Lane passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Ashton Place. A native of Durham County, he was the husband of Ann Bailiff Mundy and son of the late Samuel and Canara Byrd Gentry Mondie. J.D. was a former member of the Burlington Fire Dept. and later retired as Cemetery Superintendent for the City of Burlington. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Survivors include his wife, Ann Bailiff Mundy of the home; step son, Willard R. "Chip" King, Jr. and wife Kandy of Graham; brother, Lonnie Mondie and wife Joyce of Saxapahaw; sisters, Dorothy May of Charlotte and Faye Strader of Columbus, GA; step grandchildren, Kelli King and Rachael King. Funeral services will be held at 6:00pm Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. John Shields. Memorials may be made to the Burlington Fire Dept., Benefit Fund; 213 S. Church St. Burlington, NC 27215. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home following the service on Tuesday.
