James Mitchell

James Franklin Mitchell, 84, of 1773 Prince Edward Dr. passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born November 24, 1924 in Wilkes County to the late Claudius Monroe, "Shorty" Mitchell and Martha Rodema Nichols Mitchell. James was married to Callie Inez Roney Mitchell for 63 years. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran. James was the owner / operator of Alamance Vending Co. Survivors include his wife of the home, daughters and sons-in-law; Martha and Darrell McKinney of Burlington, Kathy and Jon Presson of Kannapolis, sons and daughters-in-law; Bobby and Vicki Mitchell of Gibsonville, Donnie and Bonnie Mitchell of Mebane, Randy Mitchell of Burlington, grandchildren; Amy Cox, Derek Mitchell, Tammy Terry, Kendall Garner, Dana Culberson, Tina M. Wilson, Matthew McKinney, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Becky Mitchell Garner;a son, Timothy Lee Mitchell; a step mother Virgie Brooks Mitchell, brothers; Warren Washington Mitchell and Euliss Grant Mitchell. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Riverside Baptist Church by Tommy Marley. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
