James Manning

Burlington, NC James Kenneth Manning, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2011. He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Clyde Copple Manning and Mae Munns Manning. James was loved by his family and many friends during the course of his life. He had a meek spirit and a great sense of humor. The Bible speaks of the meek inheriting the earth and the Lord blessed James with a long and happy life. Survivors include his sisters, Geraldine Hackett of Burlington, Frances Manning Smith and her husband, Gerald of Mebane and Sandra Bell and her husband, Edward of Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Elizabeth Manning and Gladys Whitley and a brother, C. W. Manning. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Curtis Oakley and the burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
