Burlington, NC James Michael "Jim" Jones, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. He was the husband of the late Osie Duncan Jones and a native of Orange County. He was the son of the late Christian C. and Lula Varner Roth and adoptive parents, Willie and Dora Lutterloh Jones. Jim was a longtime member of Grace Bible Fellowship. He owned and operated of Jim Jones Motors for 32 years until 1987. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Survivors include his daughters, Betty J. Caines and her husband, Phillip of Lake Waccamaw and Rachel J. Phillips and her husband, Reed of Cary; sons, James Clayborn Jones and his wife, Sue of Winston-Salem and Larry G. Jones and his wife, Hilary of Hampstead; grandsons, Cameron F. Caines and his wife, Gretchen of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Michael S. Caines and Graham W. Phillips and his wife, Katie all of Raleigh, Weston L. Phillips and his wife, Laura, and Barrett W. Phillips all of Cary; step grandson, James C. Boyles of Winston-Salem; step granddaughter, Jennifer E. Boyles of Winston-Salem, and six grandchildren. The funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Mr. Ken Harman and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Liberty Commons and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the compassionate care given to their father.
