James Ingold

James Ingold

Whitsett-James "Jim" Denny Ingold, age 91 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2014. He was a native of Guilford County and the husband of 71 years to LuEller Wood Ingold who survives. Jim retired from IBM in Research Triangle Park and was a self-employed Grading Contractor for many years. He was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ where he served in the past as an usher and on the Consistory. He was a veteran of the US Army Aircorp serving in WW II. Jim enjoyed growing vegetables to give away to his family and friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of the home; daughters, Linda Ingold Kirkman of Whitsett and Lori Ingold Dickson and husband, John of Apex; sons, Gary Ingold and wife, Joyce, Robert Ingold and Denny Ingold all of Whitsett; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Clarine Ingold and Jeanne Ingold both of Whitsett, Iona Ingold Humble of Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denny Murphy and Florence Greeson Ingold; brother, Murphy Floyd Ingold and sisters, Elsie Mildred Ingold, Johnsie Ingold Clapp and Wanda Ingold Amick. The family would like to thank the Clapp's Nursing Home "Gold Hall" staff for the quality care they have provided for Jim. Also a very special thank you to family friend, Chuck Ratliff, for the time, care and love he has shown our family and many others at Clapp's. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ by Rev. Lloyd Spencer and the burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:45-2:45 pm at the church and other times at the home of his daughter, Linda Kirkman. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hope UCC, 2400 Mt. Hope Church Road, Whitsett, NC 27377.
