James Hinshaw

Gibsonville - James Albert Hinshaw, 73, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Hospice Home. He was born December 13, 1944 in Alamance County to the late Floyd Ivey Hinshaw, Sr. and Elizabeth Andrews Hinshaw and was the husband of 48 years to the late Vickie Sue Isley Hinshaw.

James served in the US Army and was a member of Brightwood Christian Church. He worked for Sears and Roebuck for many years before retiring from Honda Power Equipment. He enjoyed the outdoors, mostly hunting and fishing and was an avid UNC Tarheel fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sons, Rodney Hinshaw and Ronnie Hinshaw; 3 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters; brother, Floyd Ivey Hinshaw, Jr. and wife Linda; sisters, Dionne H. Satterfield and husband Donald, Linda H. Cox and husband Jerry; brother-in-law, Mark Tomb and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a sister, Peggy H. Tomb.

The funeral service will be held 12:00pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Brightwood Christian Church by Rev. Ricky Cox with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:45am at the church on Friday prior to the service and other times at the home.
